For the past few weeks I have been experiencing some electrical problems.

1.) One minute the left turn signal (rear) would go out and within a few hours it comes back on.

2.) Now today my brakes light won't go out.

3.) When I'm driving and I turn on the dome light with the switch the "door ajar" message comes up even when there isn't any doors open. When this happens the unlock and lock buttons don't work. The only way to fix this is to turn off the dome light period so they won't come on.

4.)If I have the dome light on and close my door they stay on instead of turning off. And if I try to lock the door with the fob I get the two honks but there isn't a door open.

5.) I get random warning chimes without any warnings on the message center.

I took it down to my local ford. Since I'm a regular he only charged a diagnosis fee of $35 which isn't too bad.

He came back and told me that the problem is a lot more complicated than originally thought. He said that they would have to take off the door panel on the driver side because that is where the problem is coming from and they would have to see if it is the wires or something with the "module".

He said that getting into the door panel alone is about $200 plus fixing the problem of what they find.

I forgot that I have the Premium Care Extended Warranty, or I would have them tell me if anything is covered.

I looked on the list of this covered but I couldn't find anything that fits this. Would there be something that would be covered under the warranty?

Thanks.

I don't know about problems #1 and 2 but I was experiencing the door ajar issue 2 weeks ago and the dealer told me the same thing. After reading a few threads here I took a chance before spending the money and just sprayed wd40 on all 6 of the latches. All 4 doors, the rear hatch and window. that took care of the issue for me and there have been no more door ajar issues. For whatever reason your truck thinks there's an open door and the wd40 seems to have cleaned out whatever latch was showing as open.

Actually I did have the problem with the brake lights staying on with a previous GM vehicle and it was just a bad brake light switch under the dash by the brake pedal. Pull the connector off and if the lights go out that's your problem.

I just fixed the door ajar problem on mine. If the wd40 dont work. Open the door an move the rubber boot from the door to the jam. Look for any broken wires. When I did mine i found one broken, so i went in and took it all apart and ended up finding three more. your going to have to take the inner door panel off (3 screws?) unhook ALL electrical connectors, then gently slide the connectors along with the harness out towards the door jam. You should have a bundle of wires between the jam and the door so itll be easy to work on. I just cut, solderd, heat shrunk all broken wires. I had my son sit on the driver side floor to hold some wires while I solderd. All said an done it took 35-40 min. from start to finnish. Vary easy, Ill bet it fixes #s 3,4,5.
