Service Engine Light...P0402 ERROR CODE

Hubby found a friend with a tester and came back with this error code...
P0402.




My previous post:
So my service engine soon light came on ---what else could go wrong with this? It might be an easy fix, who knows.....anybody? What's a common reason - if there is one?

I was checking out the manual and it said to fill up the gas tank? Weird. But I'm willing to try that before forking the cash over at the dealership.

Anybody got any ideas?

402 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected.

So i I had to guess I would say DPFE sensor failure or the EGR.

So now, the light went out after it was hooked up to the tester. I filled it up today. I noticed this morning (even before the fill up) that there is some hesitation to it when cruising down the road, for lack of a better term (hey I'm a girl after all!) it chugs along. UGH
