setting on auto lights

i have automatic lights (not drl's) on my 99 explorer sport and any time my lights are on, they stay on for a few minutes after i turn off the ignition. is there any way to turn this off without disabling the auto light feature. it is annoying mostly because everybody says "you left your lights on" and i will get the occasional "attention driver of a black ford explorer, you did not turn your lights off" over the PA system in stores.

if its the slide switch on the rear view mirror, just move it more to the left, turning down the delay
