where is the best place to measure from on the tcase? is the yoke flat enough to base my measurement off of? and if i dont have the pinion in my axles, where is safe to measure from on them?

Yes typically the yoke is flat enough to measure from. Just make sure its clean. You can do a few measurements rotating the yoke/flange each time just to verify that you didnt put the angle finder on a dent or a bulge on the flange/yoke.

If you dont have a pinion on the axle, then set the angle finder on the 3" or whatever diameter hole on the housing that the pinion gear would come out of. Againt just make sure the surface is clean.
