I'm having an issue with the clock...every time i set the time and then turn off the car the time stops and stays at that time. It has happening ever since I got the car a few days ago. Am I forgetting to press something or turn a function on/off? Thanks!

Congratulations. You've managed to make time stand still. :D
To my knowledge there is nothing to account for that except a technical problem. I haven't seen any posts on this issue before. Once you set the time, it should continue to run whether the ignition is ON or OFF.
I think a trip to the dealer is in order.

That's just great...a trip to the dealer and it's only been 2 days! :thumbdwn: thanks!

Don't be too upset. Perhaps someone will come up with something this weekend. A popular answer to some problems is to pull fuse 29 and set it back in. I don't know if that will solve the problem because I gather that the clock works just fine until the ignition is turned off. Besides, you have to be a contortionist to get at the fuse box.
Good luck.

Peter

I will tell my husband about this fuse 29 and see what happens. It really is a strange problem!

When I took delivery of my EX I had the same issue, set the clock and date and next time the clock was off or stayed @ the previous setting when the car was turned off. One thing I must add, my GPS (Navigation) was not working properly at the time.
The only alternative at the time (and after going to the dealer) to solve the issue (clock/date/GPS) was to disconnect the battery for 5 mintues, I did not pulled fuse 29 as Peter mentioned b'se I am not a contorsionist, (I did use the master reset option but no luck). When the system (MFT) re-started, I checked the GPS and was working properly then check clock and date and automatically picked up the info from the satellites.
Question: your car equiped with GPS and working fine? I think there is an option for the clock and date to updated from the GPS satellites.
Hope this gives you some pointers.:)

We don't have navigation set up yet. We will try taking out the battery for 5 minutes to see what happens. Thanks for the tips :)

The info below is from MFT/MLT Manual 4th Printing:
Quote:
SETTING THE CLOCK
1. Press the Settings icon > Clock.
2. Press + and — to adjust the time.
From this screen, you can also access other adjustments such as 12 or
24 hour mode, to activate GPS time synchronization, and to have the
system automatically update new time zones.
Once you update any settings they will be automatically saved.
Note: The date will be set by your vehicle’s GPS. You cannot manually
set the date.
Note: After a battery disconnect, your vehicle will need to acquire a GPS
signal to update the clock. A GPS signal can be received in an open sky
area. Once your vehicle acquires the signal, it may take a few minutes
for the update to display the correct time.

I park my Explorer in the garage where there is no GPS signal but yet the clock is always correct even when it is in the garage.

Peter,

Mine is most of the time under cover in a multi-level parking garage, when I first experienced the issue I was unable to keep the clock and date even using the manual setting.

I am at lost with this issue, the only thing that I know is that it was fixed when the GPS issue was corrected.

Hi, annem13!

Congrats on your new ride!

Since you don't have navigation, I suggest calling your dealer for an appointment to reset the system.

@peterK9 and BobbyMarks - Thanks for helping annem13! :)
