Okay, i have a 2002 Mounty with V8 & AWD. I was replacing the brakes and rotors today, and noticed that one of the rear coil spring was actually snapped.:(

So i told the wife, we need to replace it soon, and we should just buy lowering springs. She agreed:thumbsup:

Anyways, is the Explorer and Mounty and same as far as coil springs go??? Can i just buy a kit a 02 Explorer????

2nd, where is a good place to buy from, and what should i expect to pay around???

And lastly 3rd, what brand should i look for??? I do not want a slammed to the ground style. I want more performance then anything. I was thinking Eibach, but they seem pricey in comparison.

Thanks for any info.:us:

The kits are the same...I would go with Ground Force

What's a good price for it???? And where should i get it from??? Ebay???

Hard to find Ebay, I would buy them from Explorer Express or something similar. Also, you will need camber adjusters, I got my adjusters from UltraRev.com for around $80.

I've got this same problem on mine, is this common?

So it doesn't matter that the Mounty is AWD, and the Explorer is 4wd??? What kinda price should i look for on the Ground Force springs???

No, it doesn't matter. My Limited X is AWD, and I used the ground force. I bought mine used, but I think your gonna be looking around $230 or so for the springs

My ex is lowered on Belltech springs, which lowers it a tad more than the GF springs. I got an alignment done a couple of weeks ago, and they had everything they needed in house and were able to get everything pretty close to factory specs. I still have a tiny bit of negative camber, which is a good thing. So, unless you plan on aligning it yourself, you might not need to purchase camber adjusters.

Did you get your mountaineer lowered yet? Interested to see what that would look like.
