I've referred to your forums several times for some needed fixes on my car, but some things I wasn't able to find and just gave up looking.

1. Driver door doesn't work, would lock but then wouldn't unlock.. had to tie off locking mechanism with wire because I broke 2 door handles because of this... seen a few threads on what might be wrong and seems pretty complicated..

2. My car "hums" when it gets hot, its very irritating and embarrising to be sitting at a light and then my car starts to hum.. asked several people about it, no ones ever heard of it...

3. My car dings like the keys are in it, even when they aren't.. done this since i've had to car, sometimes stops if you mess with the ignition??

4. Have to help my motor push up and down my driver window.. new motor or bent up track..?

5. Sometimes my passenger window motor wont work till I hit the door around the motor.. loose wiring maybe..? didnt notice any, maybe that motor is going out too...

These are just a few of my problems i would like to get fixed because I'm tired of dealing with it.. any input or links to threads already about these topics would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Definitely sounds like wiring issues. Go through your harness and grounds, make sure everything looks good.

these are all different problems, dont really think that they are linked to each other in any way

I have Fords for 25 years and I have probably pulled out andreplaced or repaired at least a dozen power window motors. If you have to help it or if you hit it, the motor is likley going. Some of them have an adjusting screw on them to give it a little more torque and maybe it will go up and last a little while longer. For motors, you can get them at the junk yard, or you may want to just go ahead and get a new one since you likely will not want to be doing the job again anytime soon. Having said that, I have also had the tracks come loose due to a bolt falling out, but usually it is the motor.

If you are talking about the auto door lock, the actuator has to be bolted or riveted in place or it will move and the lock will not. If you talking about the linkage, all of that has to be secure and in place as well. There are little plastic bushings at the links and they have to be in good shape as well.

Good luck,

I had the same problem, I tracked it down to the coating on the rubber window groove has worn away from use, I fixed mine by spraying silicone lub down the rubber runners and working it up and down a few times, I did this 2 years ago and it's been fine since, and being silicone it won't perish the rubber
