Quick question for all the experienced X owners out there. Does anybody know the dimensions on the Warrior shackles(WAR 153 ), I was thinking of welding up a set for my X seeing as how I have the steel. I just don't know the proper sizes. I like to do as much of the work as possible on my truck just because it's part of the fun of owning one! Any help you guys could give would be appreciated. If not, I guess I'll just stop being a cheapass and buy the Warriors! LOL

Basic do it yourself shackles:

Basic Eye to eye dimension = Stock eye to eye dimension + desired lift height over stock x 2

Side plates from 3/8" steel 2-2.5" wide with a box tube brace in the middle minimum 1/8" wall.

I really appreciate the quick response. I'll go ahead and give it a go on the home made shackles and see what happens. Worst case I'll still have the stock ones to put back on if they don't turn out right! You wouldn't happen to know what kind of steel they use would ya'? Just want to make sure they don't give out on me. Wouldn't be the first time I've busted a suspension part

so say i wanted 2" of lift, then the eye to eye would be whatever my stock demensions are + 4"? did i read that right?
