I just finished the lift on my 97 X Sport and I wanted to share some images I took before, during and after it was done for anyone wanting to see results.

I made my own shackles as described here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173911

And I also did the torsion twist (no that's not a dance) as described here: http://www.explorer4x4.com/torsionbars.html

The only problems I ran into was the top drivers side shackle bolt, I was able to pull the other 3 out by hand. What I found with a stuck bolt is to crank on the bolt end back and forth and spray it liberally with Liquid Wrench or PB (Your preference). Not to mention soak it a day before you work on it, I think that's why mine came out so well other than one.
Once I was able to move the bolt to one side with a couple friendly taps with a mini sledge I cut it as close to the shackle as I could while leaving some room to file the burrs off. And... Pop!!! out it came.

The torsion bar was a cinch, I don't think I would even had to jack the truck as the bolts were nice and loose from soaking in a bath of Liquid Wrench for a day.

Here are the pics I took of the before, after just shackles and after shackles and torsion. I have added lines for you to compare to. In person it looks and feels much higher but images don't lie.

I hope this will help anyone out that wants to do a shackle and TT lift. Mine took aprox 3 hours to do and that included making the shackles.
