I have an '02 but I haven't looked to see how it is removed yet so I don't know how hard or what is required to get to the screws on the rack. If I was in your shoes, I would acquire a replacement set of screws from a local or online junkyard or from a dealer. Then get a screw extractor kit. Check them out online to see which kit will work best for you. Depending on the condition of your rack and mounting hardware, you may want to consider some kind of spray lube that will help to free the fasteners. If so, you will want one that will not harm your paint or rack.
