Searched for this, but could not find an answer for a 2001 Sport Trac.

I want to remove (shave) the emblems on the tailgate and front doors.

Does anyone know if there are holes in the sheet metal underneath these?

Thanks!

What about the tailgate?

Tailgate letters are the same, no holes. PITA is removing residual foam tape adhesive. Ford "oval" tailgate badge also uses foam tape.

Front badge is held by two speed nuts behind the grille. To reinstall, a thin layer of clear RTV silicone is very strong, but difficult to remove.

The paint on my door is cracked, so use floss, not the shopping cart!

Just wanted to add info about the rear tailgate. The tailgate is the same between a 01-03 super crew f150 and Sport trac. If you remove the 8" wide trim piece there is in indentation in the left lower corner for a Ford emblem and I think there are 2 little holes in the lower right to help align the f150 badge. Just something to consider if you take the complete moldings off instead just the badges.

How do you remove that lower 8" trim panel?

All are held on by double sided tape
