you sure it is the rear end? these explores have wheel bearings issues.
to tell if it is your rear end do this= after the vehicle is warmed up(5-10 miles of driving) get up to 50-60mph, get on the gas slightly and let off. Do that a few times. IF the humming noise comes and goes with the appling and letting off the gas it is the rear end.
Wheel bearing= starts humming at about 35-40 and doesnt go away with the appling and letting off the gas. Gets louder when you turn left or right. ( my left rear really didnt get louder when doing the turning method.)
