Just Yesterday I notice my mounty wasnt runnin just right..
First thought was bad gas...
So I ran her around until before E and filled up with some 91. Still there is a miss. Next thought was maybe a fouled plug? But when you give heavy acceleration she runs better. So Maybe a clogged fuel filter? or something lodged in the fuel line. Also she boggs out then shifts to a higher gear right away. Iam not sure if this is the tranny or the valvebody or it has to do with the mis she seems to have.
any ideas greatly apreciated!

Missing under load? Check coil pack resistance and ignition wire resistance.

Missing at idle but smooths out at higher speeds? Check for vacuum leaks. Also, possibly a bad injector, check by performing a cylinder balance test....

Any codes yet?

Ok I have the msd coil packs pn 8241 just havent installed them. Well at idle she doesnt miss, but under smooth acceleration she does. I ran sea foam today, fuel system treatment and octane booster and she runs the same...

Havent got the scanner yet

Well, going to the basics, you need fuel, spark and compression.

You can test for fuel flow and pressure. Also you can run a cylinder balance test with the scanner which should be able to tell if one (or more) of the injectors are not working right.

You are going to install new coil packs, you should also verify that the ignition wires and spark plugs are ok.

While you have the spark plugs out, you might want to run a compression test or leakdown test to verify that it isn't a mechanical problem with the engine.

dogfriend Thanks for your input will update you with the results
