My truck is at 86000 miles with a rebuilt tranny at 56000. I plan on getting some rebuild parts for the truck while i have some extra money. Obviously that eaton M62 charger and adapter are at the top of my list.

The eaton M62 thread talks about an internal after-market shift kit. Who makes it? Can it be installed for fairly cheap without requiring yet another tranny rebuild?

The engine is strong with no leaks, hasn't even needed a tuneup yep. I figure add the SC now and wait for a engine rebuild to add new throttlebody, cams and pushrods.

My only worry is blowing out the tranny with that extra power.

I installed the Transgo kit($40) and it made good improvements. It does not slide into gear anymore. It shifts somewhat firm into gear now. No it does not hit hard enough to grab 2nd. All it does is firms things up. If you get this kit, plan to take your time with the installation. I was doing mine in a hurry and ended up dropping the pan 3 times before I got things right. It does work well.

I'll be posting my (long) review of the Baumann shift kit I installed last week.

The two most common ones are the Transgo and the Superior. I used both in my "A4LD Rebuild Diary" rebuild. Much of the kits involved valve body issues, easily done DIY with the trannie in the car. Other parts would only be added during a rebuild (clutch springs etc). There was some overlap between the kits but overall I felt using both was a good plan.

Wich would you recomend if the tranny will stay in the truck? I'm not taking it out to put a few parts in it.

Both kits had things you could add without remvig the trannie, and both kits had things you needed to pull it to replace. It would be a tough call... if I only got ONE, I'd probably opt for the Superior... I'd get both though...

thanks oversquare, that was the sort of info I was looking for... somthing i can have my mechanic put on without pulling the tranny and costing an arm and a leg.

I'm not looking for quicker shifts or anything, I just want to do what i can to help the tranny cope with the added power. Hopfully, this will do.

If adding a supercharger, I would probably go with the "Stage 3" setting, as well as set the other setting to "B" instead of "A".

You mechanic may charge you about 3 hrs of labor.

Oversquare the kit you installed was for a 4R70W as understood it. Does Baumann make a kit for the A4LD/4R55/5R55 as well?

I'm not sure if they make a kit for your application. Check out their web site for more info.
