Well I went and picked up the shift plus enhancer for my A4LD trans, and after looking vigourously with my tech friend, he says there is no vacuum lines. And he swears that it's the electronic Trans. Which would mean the other Shift Enhancer would work, and not this one.

Just doesn't make sense since I did a VIN check and was verified it was the A4LD, and even pulled the # off of the trans and verified it was the A4LD but yet, there are no lines to be seen coming out of it.

If anyone has any info, it would be appreciated.

You have a 4R55E, not an A4LD. Seriously, don't beleive anyone but us, they are almost all wrong.

And that is the electronic one isn't it?

Grrr....

Klowns - Yes, you have the 4R55E. Ford used the same transmission code for the A4LD and 4R55E since the two transmissions weren't used during the same year. Basically their code only means the 4-speed automatic for the V6 for the given year. That is probably how you ended up getting A4LD from the VIN check.

Klowns, sorry you got the wrong one.

I thought you had the 4R55E, but you were positive you had the A4LD so I referred you to that model of the shift improver. Very sorry, hope you can either return it or resell it. Think about it this way, at least it's only $30.

Not your fault at all Alec, A ford dealership verified that the VIN number supplied said it was an A4LD even though it wasn't. And even pulled the code off of the tranny itself, and it was matched to be an A4LD, but it isn't. Loper's wouldn't take it back, and treated me very poorly about the situation. So I'll prolly just sell it to someone here on the board. It cost me $42 bucks. So if I sell it, I'll hack that down a bit.

But I did pick up the electronic one, haven't opened it yet, since if I do, they wont' take it back, just want to make sure it's the right one, I'll prolly open it tonight and try to put it on. Then if that doesn't work, I'll sell it too. :)

Tell me about that shift enhancer for the A4ld, either my brother inlaw or myself may be able to help you out.
