2005 Mercury mountaineer
2005 mountaineer 4.6 frequently not kick into gear at low speeds
and sound that runs faster when gas pedal is pressed.

It overheats intermittently and I found oul and coolant smell around spark plugs.

seems like intake mani for the oil and coolant on plugs. is the coolant level full?

do you mean its slow to ****t into drive and revserse? and what donyou mean sound that runs faster when the pedal is pressed? does that mean if ya give it gas it goes into gear faster? if so that aint a good idea great way to earn a rebuild imo

From a stop slipping and have to let off gas, take forever to get to 45.

It screams in correlation to how much i press gas pedal

Sounds like you have at least one issue, but have possibly damaged the engine by driving with a slipping transmission. This can overheat the motor, and warp/crack the heads, or blow the head gasket.

Once a transmission has really overheated, it’s probably due for a rebuild.

Oh I was thinking it was intake manifold

An intake manifold would be much more preferable.

What does this mean on vacuum test?
