I've got an "01 Sport that i want to give a 2" drop, but I have a question, What shocks have you used for a similar drop? Will stockies (or stock replacements) work? If not what do you recommend?

On a similar note, hows the ride with a 2" drop on the X sport? cause right now, it rides like ****e and it has to be one of the only drawbacks to having it.

thanks for the help!

Stocks will be fine but the ride will always be like **** it gets alittle rough the lower you go but at 2" it will be almost no different than stock ride (which sucks) just make sure you get an alignment afterwards or /---\ will happen.

Good luck.

If you hate the ride now you could forget about 2 inches closer to the ground! But then again your shocks might already been shot for a while... I've had only one experience with shocks and they are Edelbrock IAS ($70 ea). They are specially made for lowered trucks (you're not gonna find many shocks made for lowered trucks). These were excellent shocks... for about 3-4 months. After that, they're just... okay shocks.

You think you're ride sucks... try being lowered virtually around 5" front/3" rear with 20s. :p Honestly, don't drop if you hate the ride, you're gonna hate it that much more.

Edelbrocks are the only ones made for lowered X's, but they suck complete monkey nuts, not worth a penny in my book. I personally have a set of custom DJM Lowering shocks made for my drop.

so should I replace the shocks first and then go from there? I love the look of a lowered ride & I've had three lowered cars in the past, but none of them have ridden as bad as my stock exploder. well, except my first one, a Geo Tracker that the frame was an inch off of the ground on hacked springs (never again!)

You might be comparing lowered ride qualities between cars and trucks. Eh, you can't do that. It ain't the same. Cars will always ride better than trucks especially lowered ones.

If you are fully decided that you are going to lower it then you should lower it first and then get shocks designed for lowered trucks.

when I say cars, I meant cars & trucks, s-10, tracker, camaro, eclipse gst.

But anyways, I put new shocks on and man did it make a difference, I got some performance shocks (edelbrock) and I'll probably lower it in the next few weeks.
two questions though:
1)which will more greatly affect handling; drop or EE swaybar?
2) 2 or 3 inches on the drop? (I have no problem getting a c notch in the future)

1) EE sway bar but a drop is not so far behind.
2) Depends. Most likely you will get between those two numbers.
