I NEED new shocks. I WANT a 2.5 JD lift. Due to life stuff - weddings, anniversaries, happy hour, etc. - the lift is planned for next year. But, can I put shocks on now that will accommodate the lift(if so, it's a coin toss between Edlebrocks & Ranchos)or will the lift require new shocks regardless of what I put on now? I currently have no mods & drive 50 hwy miles a day.

Generally, shocks need to increase in length the same amount as the lift. So you'll need 2.5" longer shocks. You could buy some cheaper ones for now, if your current ones are shot.

Right, the shocks have to be changed to accomodate the lift. Maximum extension and compression lengths gotta match!

Thanks. That's what I figured.
