RS9000 replacement: do now, during or after lift?

I desperately need to replace my shocks and have decided to go with RS9000s, 69 each at local store. Is it ok to replace them now before I lift or should I wait until I lift? I am only lifting 4-5" too. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I might be wrong on this, but I think you have to buy longer shocks for lift, so if you replace them now, you will have to replace them when you get your lift too.
