Anybody know what the shorting block is for that comes off the ignition module (EDIS6) in front of the battery? From the wiring diagram, the shorting block connects some function between the ignition module and the PCM. Wondering what symptom might be corrected or evaluated by removing this shorting block.

Vehicle seemed to ping less with this shorting block removed, but could be a coincidence. I am not referring to the octane shorting block here. Already removed that one and it did reduce pinging, but not completely.

Thanks

I am looking for this. Could you give a little more detail on its location?

The edis module and shorting block is located at front of engine compartment, passenger side on my 94 explorer, right in front of the battery. May have to move the battery to see it.
