This Friday I am doing a swap my car for a 99 EB Explorer. Motor sounds and feels strong, exterior in pretty good shape, interior needs minor work. There is one thing that does have me concerned, tho I am hoping someone will tell me it is no big deal.

When I shift day into Drive it does not sit on D, it sits between D and the next gear (3rd I think). I can can sit it on D but it wont shift into Drive unless I slide it past it. My husband says that it is no big deal and at worst it could mean that it has had another engine or tranny put in and that is causing it to not match up totally. I am worried that this could mean problems for me up the road.

What do ya'll think?

Thank you. Who would have known it would be such an easy fix. Here I was paranoid for nothing.

This is the place to be!! Welcome :)

Nothing wrong with being a little bit paranoid... Thankfully, if it can be done to an Explorer, the people here have probably been through it. Thus- writeups! :)

my 97 was plagued with the same issue. never bothered fixing it though.
