Shudders when I accelerate.

shudders fast when i press the gas hard,goes away when i put it in 4wd and press the gas hard, have a friend w/the same problem but his is a v8 HELP, been going on for 6-8 mo.i bought new tires and had em bal not the problem.

Shudder or vibration is a good way to state my situation. On my 2 wheel drive going from 35 mph to highway speed it was more noticeable. It made you think you were on a very rough road. By the advise of two transmission service centers I replaced the universal joints. The back one was bad. This did fix the problem. With 150,000 the universal joints had never been replaced.
