Side window defrost with floor heat?

Just wondering if it is normal for the side window defrost vents to have air blowing out of them when you have floor only selected? Actually the only time they aren't blowing is when you select dash vents only. I noticed this when my wife was complaining that her feet are always cold in her 2016 sport. Thanks for any help

setting vent + floor:
The heat along the floor is pretty weak in cold temps on fan at 1-bar and cabin temp set to 68 or less.
Cabin set to 69 and up & 2 to 3 bars is minimum
But anytime at 1 bar feel the floor blower - real weak.

Yes it's normal. My honda does this as well.

Welcome to the Forum.
As mentioned above, it is normal. I only have the floor vents chosen for heating and get heat from the side dash vents. My previous MKT had the vents in the door.
