Silver Lake runs this spring (Michigan or anyone close read this!)

I'll have to find out for sure. I think it only runs in summer from Milwaukee or Kenosha one to Muskegon. I know I sure aint gonna drive all the way around the lake. I hate driving through Chicago! Its been so long since I lived up north, I just cant remember about the ferry. I took it across the last time about 8 years ago.

Eric,
As long as you have tow hooks and a working 4WD system I think you'll do ok. Also if you have any sort of lift or wider tires it'll help, but not necessary. Also if you have an automatic a auxiallry trans cooler is a nice addition, especially in the hot summer. They are like $50. it's not required though. From Albion, you could meet up here at my school or you could just emet me up there. I am in Allendale, MI so it is near the route you'd take to the dunes. Trapmaker says it'll take you an hour and 45 mins to get to Allendale. It's about another hour and 15 mins past here to the dunes. Also if you guys have friends that want to go thats fine also.

There will be more runs late rin the summer...so keep on the lookout and maybe you can come some other time.

Looks like my brother and his f150 and I are going to be goin'. Yeah looks like you are right on the way up there. Tell me some times and some spec. on how to get to your place. We can do a convoy. I might trailer my truck my truck to save on some gas. And if anyone else is around were I live and want to go we can convoy from my house. As for a time it really depends on where everyone is coming from. The dunes open at either 9 or 10. if we wanted to be there at 10 we would have to meet here at like 9. for those who have to drive far to get here, that may be too early. It really all depends on what you guys want to do...give me some input on a time.

The air filter is really your call. There are some water holes on the dunes and thats the only way my engine got sand on it. If it was me I'd toss the airbox back in, just for added security, but I doubt you'll get sand up in there.

Looking at the calendar Sunday the 7th looks better for me. I got to work and my buddy who really wants to go has to work also. If you can make a change that would be great if not. I will just go up on Sunday. Let me know. One more thing. How many people are planning on going? I got 2 trucks and 3 three people total with me. I was thninking we could have a cook out while up there. Not sure how cold it will be. But I am game for anything.

Received you're email. I'll have to keep an eye out on the dates for this one. I've got family that lives near detroit so it's about 2 hours to the dunes. Makes for a nice little weekend. I'll let you know as the time comes near.

Also,
If anybody's up for a run in Wellsville, let me know. There's ton's of trails in the area and I'm looking for help to scout them. Just PM me and I'll be more than happy to wheel whenever.

Well I found it on the map its do-able about 5 hrs or so (just a guess) Im working the 6th weekend but am off all the 27th weekend . Id be interested so I,ll keep an eye on this post as the time gets nearer.
SSIKORA If it works out Id meet up with ya , somewhere along I-69 maybe ? Lets see what happens.

Since the trip is going to be so long for you guys do you want to maybe camp over friday night so you don;t have to leave at the crack of dawn to make it here?

Thats kind of what Ive been thinking ,It would make it more enjoyable. Can you camp there or close(motel?) depends on the weather.
