Silver Lake runs this spring (Michigan or anyone close read this!)

Everyone may start thinking about what they are doing in early June. Maybe another MI run to put on your calender.

Ok, what time you thnk you'll make it up there?

I'm gonna try to leave my house by 9:30-10:00. I'll be up there around 11:00 or so. I might head up Friday after work to get my tags and stuff but I won't be up there til after 6:00. If I change my mind I'll let you guys know. I've been talkin with the F150 guys alot too. Should be alot of fun.

I'm not sure if I'll be able ot join the cookout or not. For right now the meals have been my lowest priority. Been trying to get a bunch of things done ot make the trip easier, i.e. this weekend I'll be installing new rear brakes and new shocks, as well as changing the oil ahead of its time since this trip will be about a 3000 mile round trip. Last weekened I put on new wheels an dpainted the airdam (though it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped). I am planning on getting there a little earlier then I originally planned, maybe sometime Friday afternoon rather then late Friday night. Decided to go to class Wednesday night instead of Thursday and spend Thursday night driving instead :).

Can't wait to see everyone there! If anyone wants to get ahold of me out there, my cell phone is 303-868-8265 and I do plan on having it ont he whole time. Like I think I mentioned before I'm staying in Holland at the Holiday Inn there.

ok...off topic...any of you GUYS that want a pretty decient free "live" link...email me.

For you guys thinking about getting a CB. If all you are going to use it for is off road communications a couple times a year, buy a cheap one. You can get these at numerous places and pay from $35 on up. I bought one from the Sportsman's Guide online for about $50 in that it had NOAA weather channels on it. Anyway, once you get a radio, go to Radio Shack and buy a cigarette lighter plug. Splice the wires from the radio onto the plug and you are good to go. While at radio shack pick up a cheap magnetic mount antenna and you are ready to go.

A couple of other choices include, simply buying one of those emergency type CBs. They usually come in a kit with a radio that already plugs into a cigarette lighter, and a magnetic antenna. These work pretty well and are pretty cheap, usually less than $50.

Another choice is a hand held. These run off of batteries, but usually come with a cigarette plug. They have a "rubber duckie" antenna, but some have a jack on them for an exterior antenna. Or you can usually buy an outside antenna for them as an option. You can find like new refurbished ones on Ebay for less than $20. These are pretty good radios and I think some even include NOAA weather channels on them.

From weather.com, the forecast for Dead Link Removed is partly cloudy, high of 47 on Saturday. I think as long as there is no rain, and it isn't damn cold we should be alright.

Um yea, that is pretty off topic Shaun, but she has clothes on right now, so most people probably wouldnt be interested....lol

Noone wants it anyways....did you see her earlier this morning??? WHEW!!!

O yea, everyone got a towstrap and a towpoint (aka a class II or III hitch)?

I believe that Travis made a towpoint a requirement for participation.

Eric

I'm pumped guys, only 4 days or so before we go!!!! Hey, at least its not forecast to rain 45-50 shouldnt be too bad, should be fun!

yeah, I would like everyone to have at least one tow point unless they don;t mind risking getting their rear bumper tweaked if we have to use that as a tow point. i have been told that this time of season since it's early in the season, the snow may have some quite soft spots.
Also if we could have a few shovels present it would help in case someone gets real stuck.

ok guys...lets get the ball rollin. My group is gonna be bringing 20 lbs of burger/dogs/chips/and a gas grill. We are pulling in all the big stuff and could use a little help here. Can someone else bring buns/condiments?? It's only a few days away...if we plan on making the cookout happen....I'd like to get some commitments. Please reply soon.

I will bring a pack of hotdogs and buns. I will also bring one bottle of ketchup and one of mustard.

I have asked my big bronco brothers to each bring something such as a pack of hotdogs, buns, chips, or like food.

We need meat, real 90-100% lean ground beef!!!! I am going to bring some burgers

I think someone else was set for the burger meet.

Today is a GREAT DAY!!! Finally after 3 weeks I got my trans done. I rebuilt it myself at home and ran into some money problems (lack there of to be percise). So it looks like I am able to go to Silver Lake. I am so HAPPY. :bounce: :bounce: :D :D I was getting VERY worried. By the way. Were am I supposed to put the gas grill when we are wheeling? And what if it is not very nice weather? About how many people am I cooking for? Do people like there burgers plain? Or do they like them with salt or some other seasoning? Try to give me some ideas so I know what I need when I cook the food. One more thing. I have posted pictures of my broken trans parts.

Dead Link Removed

Thanks

Eric
