I know some of this has already been posted in other threads, but figured I'd list it separately for those interested. I picked up some more Silverstars for my wife's ride this weekend. Advance Auto has them on sale for $21.98 each, PLUS there is a $10 per pair mail in rebate. Net cost of just under $18 each after tax/stamps.

Advance Auto had a big book of rebate certificates and the rebate coupon states that the offer expires 6/30/03 and must be postmarked by 7/31/03. There is NO start date for when they must be purchased.

If you can't find the coupons, you could try to call Silvania 1.800.347.3420

Is it an Advanced Auto Parts rebate or one from Silvania? I got two Silverstars at Checker last week for just under $32 and would love to get $10 more back on them. Thanks.

Sorry for the lack of clarity; it is a rebate from Sylvania, but I got the rebate coupons from Advance. You should be good to go if you can get an original coupon from one of the retail stores like Advance.

are these worth the money? I didn't know these even existed until I read this post.

Thanks Trey, I'll go see if I can find one this morning.

Don't know how much night driving you do or if your new X comes with brighter bulbs or less restrictive lenses but I felt that my lights were terrible. I went looking for the brightest legal bulbs that were available and I think these are it. Since I've installed them I've only done night driving in town but they seem a lot brighter. I read several posts on them here just do a search for Silverstar.

you should be able to find a few references here using the search. As far as replacement bulbs go, the PIAA and the Silverstars seem to be the most popular. I was using Silvania Xtravision halogens until I switched to the Silverstars and feel the Silverstars are worth the money. Much whiter and cleaner light than the $10 halogen drop ins. I just dropped $90 (needed 4) to outfit my wife's car with them as well.

I drive to (and sometime from) work in teh dark every day on country 2 lane. I like being able to see better and have almost talked myself into a $500 HID kit, but for now the $50 Silvania's are working well.

We replaced the new lights in our 1995 Neon with the silverstars and they made a tremendous difference.

I then changed the lights on our first Gen X... again.. big difference...

We then replaced teh old sealed beam lights on our 1973 c-700 water truck with the silverstars...

I can't believe the difference.. it isn't that the light is "brighter"... it is that the light is "white"..withought that blue glow.. and when driving @ night in the boonies you can really tell the silverstars are better...

IMHO they are worth the extra money
