Ok, when I put my clutch all back together and bled the system, I forgot to put the insulated sleeve back onto the hydraulic line. This sleeve came off while working on it. I really don't want to disconnect anything because it's all working so nicely. So, how important do you think this sleeve is? I was thinking that it is for heat, but it's only about 10 inches long or so, and there is a bend in the line that is close to the exhaust, which this sleeve apparently didn't cover. So, perhaps it's for heat and road debris. What would be a good alternative for insulating this line, and how important do you think it is? I was thinking I could wrap it with something, but I don't know exactly what would be best. Perhaps some of you more experienced folks in here might have a suggestion?

Thanks for reading,
Marc

I would slit it lengthwise, wrap it on the line where it's nearest the exhaust, and tape or ziptie it on.

That seems to be the most logical solution. I guess that insulation stuff is pretty spendy. I guess I'll slit it and duct tape it. Thanks for your input.
