Time for a transmission fluid change, I bought a filter and was ready to change the fluid. But, my old Haynes manual doesn't state how many quarts of transmission fluid to put into my A4LD automatic transmission on my '92 Ex..... Please help, thanks people.

I think it's about 12, could be wrong though.

If you're just droppin the pan then it's closer to 4

Mine doesnt list it either. it does list 4 quarts for the 5r55e and 5 quarts for the 4r70w. I f that helps in any way.

I recommend taking it somewhere and getting it flushed. Just changing your fluid does not really clean out your tranny. A shop will get ALL of the fluid out(including out of the torque converter) It costs more but it gets it done right.

this is what i did, i took it to a shop had it flushed, then about 4 mos later dropped the pan, changed fluid & filter and put on a new gasket. since flushing does not clean the filter or the bottom of the pan you'd be just screwing up perfectly good fluid. thats why i did it after the flush. just my 2c though
