Hi, anyone know what I need to make the sat. ready Factory 6disc.(with SAT button) Sirius radio operable on my 04 explorer limited with rear DVD player?

I know I need the tuner but looking for an alternative to the Visteon Tuners$200+ price tag
kinda on a budget- I saw that Sirius has a universal tuner kit but I can't seem to find on that would have an interface that would connect with the factory Ford system
thanks
Harry

cheaper and faster to buy a sat radio and plug it into the aux with a mini plug

nothing else required has an fm transmitter built in , goes thru the radio, ,

if you want OEM check Ebay. The prices have been reasonable there lately

If you want to keep your Rear DVD then you have to stick with OEM radio.
The DVD only works with a signal from the body module without the OEM radio the DVD won't work, radio provides a signal (Corp A/B protocol) to play the DVD's or so i have been told.

There is a post here where someone here tried to add a aftermarket radio and keep the DVD. He had to keep both radios, the OEM was under the seat set to Vid just to allow the DVD work.
As someone said you might get lucky on fleabay or off to the stealership. . .
