The 07 Limited I have is without NAV or Sirrius radio. Having had XM in the past I would like to add it in the future. My plan is to add one of the new generation Kenwood NAV units for the Garmin NAV and at the same time I'd like to add the Sirrius/XM module.

I have a concern about the antenna for Sirrius. I am not a huge fan of adding a magnetic puck to the roof and would rather add an OEM style antenna that is permanently attached. My obvious concern here would be leaks down the road.

Anyone have experience with this? Oh, and can anyone recommend a good car audio place in West Michigan to have an install of this type done?

I am thinking about doing the same as well, and I am too afraid to drill a hole in the roof of the car. I called ford and they said they would do it for me but also I was told by several body shops there some foam stuff which you put around the hole which prevents corrision and rust, which is my other concern. What I have done with my car and I am sure the antenna can pick up the sirius signal, is I just put it in the glovebox. I dont have sirius satellite cause I live in hawaii but my gps signal picks up perfectly. I would test out the glovebox scenario with sirius before you take the next route, then next you know there is a leak in your car and sorts of other problems.

When I added Sirius to my '06 Limited a few years ago, I mounted the antenna under the plastic cowl below the passenger side windshield wiper. It makes for a pretty simple installation, all you need to do is route the wire through the firewall and plug it into the Sirius module. The cowl just snaps in place. I haven't had any reception problems.....

That is a GREAT idea!

Have you had times when it seems to take longer to find the signal, or moments when it cuts out without explanation?

Thanks for the suggestion! I will probably go that way.
