Can anyone give me the correct size diameter for the mid-brake line that runs from the master cylinder/ABS down to the rear hose/junction above the rear axle for '91 Explorer 4 DR? Have to replace it this weekend so if anyone can get back to me on this ASAP much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

do you mean the hardline that runs on the drivers frame rail? If so I believe its 3/16"

'91 Explorer Eddie Bauer Brake line

Yes, Its the hard line....for a '91 Explorer 4Dr. Do you have an idea of what size it is?

Ben is correct it is a standard 3/16" size. You can get the tubing in a large roll (which you'll need fittings for and a flairing tool) or buy individual lenths in various sizes (with fittings). When I replaced that line in my 93 xlt I picked up a variety of lengths and just returned the pieces I didn't use (saved a few trips back to the parts store). BTW the hardline runs in the frame rail and gas tank and cannot be easily removed unless you drop the tank.

Does anyone know the flare size/type of the brake end near the master cylinder or ABS

Can anyone tell me what kind of flare type are at the connections of the middle brake line especially near the top by the master cylinder/ASC connection? Is it standard or metric ? or ?

Thanks...

It should be a 3/16 union, i just sold a brass one to a guy working on his 94 Explorer.

The connections are standard 3/16" fittings. I replaced the hard line from the ABS module all the way to the connection at the rear of the Fuel tank (They were all 3/16")...
