I have a stock 99 XLT V8 5.0. AWD

I'm looking for a skid plate that will protect the cooling core for the transmission. I beach drive and notice that core is plowing when in deep sand.

I already have a brush guard so I'm looking for a small plate to protect this specific part.

Also, how expencive would it be to have a shop convert this truck to 4WD.

Thanks,

Snakebit

I think all the skid plates for a 2nd gen Explorer would have to be custom made (aside from the stock ones).

Here is a thread going on right now about awd to 4wd conversions. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=77775

Welcome to the forum! Post some pics of your ride if you can and any mods you've done to it! :D Also, you can search around (if you haven't already) for tons of info on custom skid plates and 4wd conversions!

yeah I've searched for them alot and never had any luck. I've got some steel laying around the I'm probably just gonna make some out of.
