first post here..
im sure this has been asked a billion times... but i searched and couldnt really find anyone with the same problem.... sorry..
96 explorer 4.0 OHV..my brothers truck...aprrox 150k on the clock (odomitor broke @ 120 a year and a half ago ish) it has been idleing at 1,000 rpm since i can remember... (probably 2+ years) and he is too lazy to fix it because he has convinced himself that it is a $400 problem to fix (he was saying something about melted cats???( )
In short, could someone list a couple things that could be causing this high idle? it is a little rough and it has some hesitation when you step on it... about all the info i have right now... just ask if there is anything else you guys need to know... The check engine light is on also... we got a coupon for a code throw but he still wont get it flashed even though its free...
thanks alot
