Slotted or cross drilled roters..?

Mikke- i have the powerstops on mine, and they seem to work great. but, the DBA's look like a good rotor, also. so, im of no help.:D i havent turned mine, only have 10k on them. a friend at a local machine shop says yes they can turn them, and he will if i ever need it... as far as cross-drilling your own, can be done but is not recommended. i read in hot rod years ago they did this as a project. got a template from somewere, marked, drilled, then went back with a larger bit and tapered the ends of the holes. main thing is keeping the pattern consistant and staying inside the little "vanes". as far as C/drilled cracking, this is only in full-on race applications, and is then very rare. i have owned "real" crossdrilled rotors before on other vehicles, and have NEVER had one crack. also, look at all the sportbikes running around. most come stock with crossdrilled rotors. none crack. and you know what kind of forces those things are designed to withstand...

I went with A.R.t.'s rotors cause they use cryogenics to treat them, that is "supposed to make them stronger. I guess only time will tell.

jason i wasnt sayin they wont warp, im saying rotors in general shoudnt warp under normal everyday braking. but it looks as tho they can be truned anyways so it dont matter.

Have you looked into DBA's "Kangaroo Paw" series rotors? These I believe, are designed for 4 wheelers and have a special design to cool down the rotors.
