slow shifting

i have a 1991 ranger that is slow to shift when you first pull out wont shift till speed reaches around 30 after it shifts it is ok until you stop then the same thing happens again

Welcome to this forum! When was the last time the fluid & filter were replaced?

fluid and filter were changed about a month ago has a new adjustable modulator valve also.
