Hellllloooooooooo

96 4x4 2 dr sport. 165k?

Had my trans fluid serviced when I got it... I'm due for another 5 qt change again soon to finish servicing all the fluid out.

This didn't start until it got cold out....

When I start my truck in the morning, My transmission won't shift into reverse without a 10 second or so delay... same thing with drive... what I am doing to remedy this, is pull the rpm's up to 3k for about 25 seconds, after that I let off and it shifts ok. When the car has been running a while, I can go in and out of stores, start my truck then shift in and out of gears fine...

I'm sorry I call it a truck... LOL

Thoughts?

Sounds like a seal or servo piston concern.

The servo pistons get brittle when old and when they have to move for shifting they move slowly or stick and affect shifts. A seal issue is common cold and when warms up the seal expands and then works properly. Sometimes you wont be able to tell real problem without removing trans and inspecting.
