Today after driving for a short while and stopping, my cat converter was smoking pretty heavily i could see anything burning on it but the smoke was definately coming off or out of it. anyone have any idea what could have caused it? i have noticed it before but never this much smoke. i drove it to today and it wasnt smoking. i have no idea whats goin on.

Were you running your A/C? If so it was most likely the condensation from the evaporator dripping on the cat and causing steam. If it were anything else you would more than likely smell it burn.

I'm having the same problem. I can smell a burning smell. The state trooper that gave me a ticket today for speeding even noticed it. He said "Your running this thing so hard its smoking." Could this be a bad cat? I'm still under warranty so I suppose I could take it in

I'd like a little help on this from some of the experts out there before I let the dealer sit there with it for days and days trying to figure it out. Yesterday I went and looked at my cats and one of them is covered with sticky stuff on the bottom like a spilt coke. Did I just run over a coke and that is smoking? What do yall think?
