First I have a 95x with a 4.0 in it. What I would like to do is run a snorkel that looks half way professional. I have done some searching on past threads and I have seen some different pictures but nothing real clear cut for second gen explorers. If I missed somthing sorry bout that for duplicating. One thing I was think about is if I could maybe just buy the outer part to an ARB snorkel and do some custom work to make it fit. The other was, a 4x4 shop I went to suggested using a ranger snorkel. Any ideas??? Thanks alot!

what you can do is to get the top of an ARb snorkle then make a pipe from PVC(paint etc..) then for the internals you can take a tube and run it from the outside of the fender from the stock point to further up near the point were the hood ends and drill your 3 inch hole. OF you can cut run a hose from the inside and then seal the stock location. To me it seems using the flexible hose from the stock location to the snorekel works the best.

....you get the idea search the last one is what i was talking about running th piping on the outside of the innder fender.

how complicated is it to remove/put back on the fender?

im wantin to do this but can someone clear up a few questions first? How does it hook into the air filter? Do i need a air box bc i have a aftermarket KKM setup and the filter is open? Anyone have some pics of the inside of the setup/ under the hood?

you need an airbox and if you look at the threads that i posted above youll see how they did theirs. THe snorkle hooks into the air filter through the lower air box( i think that is what it is called) via the stock hole or seal that one and drill a new hole and be sure to seal evreything really well.
