Hey guys, ORR is having a run this Saturday (5-25) at the Gorman OHVP, right off the 5. We are leaving OC about 7:00am and will be meeting up there around 9:30am or so. Anyone who would like mo einfo can e-mail me, and you are all invited.

Is that right past Pyramid Lake?

Yes Bill, that would be just north of Pyramid.

Do they have a plan once they get to Hungry Valley OHV? Its mostly for ATV/motorcycles and the 4wd trails are rather plain.

However if anyone wanted to come run Miller Jeep Trail with me I'd be there. .

Miller Jeep Trail is rather famous. Locker required. It ends inside Hungry Valley. I've only done a portion of it because my friend didn't have a locker and was having a heck of a time in the mud from the snow melt. I want to go finish it :bounce:

Miller Jeep Trail is fun, I did it before. I guess I didn't see the 'locker required' sign though. ;)

Yes well. . We all know that you're the exception to that rule. . :)

Well, the run was a lot of fun even though it may not have been very challenging for you 4x4 guys. Jeff your truck is awesome and made short work of everything out there.

Here are some pics - and all of the pics on Imagestation are fullsize if you go to the album.

This is the link to my album of the trip

I'll post my pics tommorrow. Just wanted to say thanks again to Jeff for coming out on our little day trip. His Explorer performed awesome once again. And I was able to make it through the Sluice Box in the FX4, pretty much unscathed, because of his excellent spotting. We had alot of fun, eventhough we were the only 4x4s in the group. ;) As always, you Explorer guys are welcome on our runs. We always have fun.

You got a pic of this. . .

. . .and didn't get one of me chasing it down the hill?? . . . :banghead:

Although it was easy going (easy as in difficulty, and not as in easy on the truck  ), it was cool to hang with some new people. . .even though most of them were 2WD :p

Nice photos. What's with the car and two semi's in the lunchtime photo? How'd they do on the trails? ;)

Jeff, I think all of us were too busy saying "holy s***!" and seeing if you could catch up to get any pics. :D

And the semis were tearing it up out there, j/k they just happened to be there. The car was one of ours he was just riding along with someone cuz his truck was acting up.

Here are my pics...

Well, like Matt said above we had a great time and a pretty good turnout. Especially considering that people who told us they would come, backed out "because no one would be going." I was glad to see someone from the Ex forum out to join us.

Everyone's truck did great. I think the only problem everyone had was dealing with the major whoops sections. These things were truck gobblers for sure. My 33s did great. The only rubbing I experienced was at full compression in the rear and at full compression, or a full lock turn in the front. In fact, if I didn't have fender liners, my tires wouldn't rub. Thats how minor the rubbing is. The 33s also allowed me to take my truck through the Sluice Box behind Jeff. I was amazed my truck made it, and all the people who were out riding quads and bikes stopped by to gaze at the curiosity of an Explorer and Ranger going through a Jeep practice course. Not something you see everyday, but a ton of fun.

Anyway, those of us who went had an absolute blast and I can't wait to see everyone and go wheeling again. Hopefully next time with a lift.

Looked like a good time!

Sean,

Be sure to let me know when the ORR guys are making another run. I also would like to get a prerunner bumper for my Ranger. Is the bumper on the ORR truck from James Duff? I have to do something, because my bumper is a dud and I want to mount lights and have that Baja, Mexico-look.

We'll be sure to let you guys over here know when we are planning more runs.

Adam (black truck with fiberglass fenders & hood) was the only person with a prerunner bumper and he and his friend made that bumper if I'm not mistaken.

BTW - a whole bunch of us are heading up to Rialto Airport this Saturday for the prerunners.com/United Prerunners Jump Championships. Should be a lot of fun, but I think most of you are heading out to Joshua Tree.

Here's some info on it.
