Hey guys, I'll be heading up Saxon Mountain by Georgetown with Chris and Jen (mmpc and explorerauthoritygal) this Saturday, for those that don't know it is rated as easy/easy-moderate. It can be conquered by a stock Explorer, gets a little rocky in a few interesting spots and part is on a shelf road, though there isn't really much danger of going off, its wide enough for the Explorers. We might be doing a little mining sight-seeing so it could take up a good chunk of the day but if we are done real early I might take em up Spring Creek (as passengers of course - stock explorers couldn't make it up without damage). We are meeting (tentatively) at 9:30 at the Georgetown lake. Let me know if you plan on showing up so we will look for you. I will be on CB channel 13 or you can call me at 303-437-1275. For those of you who have never heard of it, check out http://bart.is-s.com/~explorers/madams/saxon/saxon.html and http://bart.is-s.com/~explorers/madams/saxon2/saxon2.html (you can see pictures of my stock ford explorer, only a few days old in the second page).

I know, I know Dead Link Removed Also I saw the video clips of your rig, I love it.

btw/ have you got your locker fixed yet?

Locker was fixed within a few days, still waiting to find out if it'll be covered under warranty though... I paid for a new locker, and if it is a warranty issue they'll just refund that price...

Hey Matt,
I would up for going on a run this saturday. I have a decently modified explorer and would love the opportunity to try a trail outside of Boulder County. Please e-mail me with directions:

OK, I'm in!! Georgetown Lake, I assume the one that they ice race on. See you at 9:30. I have a basically stock XLT. Email me if something changes. earli@us.ibm.com

You've got the right lake and the right time. As for your XLT being stock, my sister and I will each be driving non-modified Sports so I wouldn't imagine you'd have problems, assuming you have decent tires.

Do you have a CB? If so, Matt and the rest of us will be on channel 13. See you Saturday. Dead Link Removed

Hey, for four days notice, we're not doing to bad, so far on this run I have:
me
mmpc and his sister Jen
Nick
Nicks friend (can't remember if these two are seperate or together in the same car)
earli
I may have three other friends coming but they have yet to confirm, so we'll see... should be a fun time! I've never run it with such a large group, btu I certainly don't see it being a problem!

Here are a couple of pix from our little trip.

Here's another.

I don't know why I couldn't post both pix in one reply.?.?.?

Earl, looks good! Hope everyone had fun, we'll have to do it again sometime!

Great pics, Earl! I had a great time, except for that little tire issue my sister had. But with everyone helping, that just helped make the trip more interesting (or something like that... ;)).

I'm really looking forward to another trip as I've had to leave town numerous times since late May. Now that I'm finally back (until mid July at least), it's time to get my Sport off the pavement again!

I'll try and post some of our pics of the Saxon run soon, especially the one that shows what happens to a Chevy when off-roading! :D
