Didn't know what type to get..so went to the parts store..they looked up some book and got me 6 NGK TR55GP plugs...platinum tipped...I asked the guy if it had to be gapped..and he said "Nope, they should be good to go"...is this true?..

...didn't know what people used...I paid $3.28 CDN each for them..

...how much are a set of wires?..I'm debating if I should replace them as well?

wires are normally about $30 USD..... most platinum plugs are pregapped

i got my wires from truckperformance.com. They are the JBA 9mm performance wires (blue to match other things under the hood). With shipping they ran about $47. It made a difference in the x though. I also put in Bosch Plat 4's. They are more expensive, but it was worth it. Any plugs that I have ever bought were already pregapped. If you want to make sure just get a gap tool for about a dollar and look up what the gap should be in the Haynes manual.

this site gave GREAT tips on how to do the plugs..

...so, 2 hours, one bloody knucle, and 6 plugs later...I'm done. I didn't change the wires...I don't think mine are too bad.

Funny thing is..once I took the passenger front wheel off and the soft lining thing in the wheel well, the 3 plugs on the passenger side was EASY!...the hardest plug of all, as it turns out..was cylinder #4, (Driver side, front plug)...the boot is IMPOSSIBLE to get out because of the EGR pipe.

Here's a tip..an easy way to get the plug boots off, tie a piece of rope around the boot..then plug like a motha F*#@ until it pops off.

..well, don't notice any difference with the new plugs..yet...hopefully better MPG?...the old plugs were definitely worn..looks different than the new ones..=D

Bosch's and Accel

I put in the Bosch +4's as well, the best plugs I've ever bought, and will never buy anything else now. I also have the Accel Extreme 9000 plug wires with the semi-ceramic coating on the boots, they are quite nice, alot lower resistance than stock wires.
