So what is this?

So I remove the air intake duct to swap out the alternator and this is laying there. What in the world is it and where does it insert?

Look inside the fender on that side.

That open end should connect to a vacuum reservoir.

It looks like a plastic ball somewhere in that area.

That was also a good source of a vacuum leak.
