I looked behind the passenger side kick panel and found a pale blue box w/ a metal bracket holding it in place. It was covering all the writing so I removed the bracket. The unit said "Air bag module." Is this my computer, or is it just for the airbags? Thanx,

The EEC Powertrain Control Module for the '96 is on the firewall in the engine compartment, passenger side all the way at the top...it has a four letter/digit code on it and a large cable bundle running out the side. I think your 95's is there also.

The thing you are describing is just for the air bag...if i recall correctly, do NOT mess with it or you might get a surprise...like an airbag deploying.

Found it, now which #?

Found the ECU, its under the hood on the 93-ups. Now, which # does smarty parts need? I got three sets:
EEC IV SMD 271,
F5TF 12A650 ARC, and
FIG2

Any ideas?

Thanx,

thanx eric

I must've been posting my discovery as you were giving me your advice. Thanx any way!!

Looks like the FIG2...especially if those are the biggest letters on the unit.

If you're not sure, call Chris at Smartyparts (or e-mail him and ask him to call you) and explain what you've got. His phone # is 1-904-318-2007.
