where's my computer???

i am hopless. i simply cannot find the computer module in my '02 sport! how big a box am i looking for? it's not in the jack well, or in the well on the passenger side. i've looked in there with a flashlight and i see nothing. it doesn't appear to be under my dash either. i crammed myself under there and didn't see anything. argh!

That's cause it's not in any of those places.

In the firewall on the passenger side.

Well, no. The keyless entry code should be in the jack compartment

You may need a dental mirror, it will be forward of the compartment door on an electronic module.

The keyless entry code should also be on a card with your manual, but I'm assuming you already tried that?

well, i just bought the truck used from a budget rental dealership... no card....

so where exactly am i looking in the jack compartment... if i'm facing the front of vehicle, is it on the right wall? the ceiling? how small is this electronic module i'm looking for?

also... since you are being so helpful... when i was crammed under my dash the other day, i noticed a port below my steering wheel, low on the dash, which looks like its just waiting for something to be plugged into it... what is it?

The module will look like it's cramped in there, it's of reasonable size.

The port is your OBDII diagnostic port.
