So my local junkyard has failed me. Does anybody know where I can get a SOHC intake cover? The Boneheads at the shop so kindly broke mine... I don't care if its stock or even aluminum chrome:) I just want one that isn't cracked...

does nobody have any idea?

Which local junkyard? Upullandpay in Denver seems to have over a dozen gen II explorers, and you would know better than I which of the other 6 Google found have intact vehicles to pick through.

All of the ones north of Littleton on the west side of santa fe. I have found lots of exploders with the right engine the problem is people pull the cover off to get to other things and throw it on the ground and they get shattered.

Good point. How often are removed parts reinstalled at salvage yards?

I don't think this will fit! It says 98-01 the shape looks like it could conflict with the hoses and such.

Looks just like the one on my 97.

I do, it's not a big deal to just fasten down a few bolts so the next guy has what he needs. Even if I didn't do that I'd still lay it back on the engine where it was.

Unfortunately its rare people are even considerate enough to put it inside the vehicle much less back where it goes.

Job 1/Job 2 only refers to the Sport Tracs. Not the earlier model Explorers. I assume yours is a 97, based on your profile under your user name.

None of those are mine. 1997 Limited Edition XLT SOHC. Those are so big I feel like they might hit the belt.

this one looks like the cover on my '97 SOHC. it looks pretty much the same as swshawaii's links. it also looks the same as the cover that was on my '01 SOHC. dumb question, but are you sure you don't have the OHV engine? can you post a link to a photo of your cracked cover? the fact that your truck is a Limited shouldn't make any difference.
