solid axle ??????

so i was wondering what everybody is running steering wise on solid axles????

r u guys running rack and pinion or what??

Rack and pinion would never work. I'll be running the stock steering box, with links made out of DOM and chevy 1 ton tre's. You can also run full hydraulic but it's not legal on-road.

Since you have a 2nd gen you would need to get a steering box as well unless you go full hydro :)
 






I used rebar worked good. Got it at home depot. I used number 3 cause I wanted to save weight over number 4.

I really used he stock box with with chevy TREs and chrome moly tubing. Search jefe, stic-o, section525, ad Izwack. They ll have done sas with explorers like yours.

Actually there is no law that says full hydro is illegal. People dont run it on the road as a saftey issue.
