Solo Baric vs JL W6

I found a Solo Baric S12 L7 with a box that is brand new. It does 750 rms watts and has a peak of 1500 watts. Its a dual 4ohm speaker. Or I have the chance to buy a JL W6 in a box that is used. Its a DVC with 400 rms. The speakers are about the same price. The only difference is 8 dollars. I don't know which one i should get or which one will have the best sound quality. The sub is going in a explorer sport.

JLs reign of being the "God of speakers" has died out thankfully. Overrated is all I can say.

Go with the Kickers.

simple as that

he asked which would have the best sq. the L7 has very little. the w6 is actually a quite good sq woofer.

i hate JL, and would never recommend their products to someone if i were given a clean slate to choose from, but in this situation their product is head and shoulders above the other.

Sound quality go with JL, if you want loud go with Kicker..If I had mky choice I would let them both go and get an RE SX 15...but thats me

If the JL nor the kicker is that great from reading your post what are some suggestions that i get instead. All i am wanting is 1 12in, but i wanting that 12in sub to be really good. I am wanting to spend anywhere from mid $2's to very low $3's. Right now i have a Pioneer deh-p8mp premier cd player with a Rockford Rostgate amp (50x4) powering Boston Acoustics speakers(160 watts door speakers) and wanting one 12 to round everything out.

mtx 9500 12" with a 942 amplifier. i know a guy selling both used right now too in fact.

thats a simple one since your getting up into the price range you can get em for.

for other recommendations though i need to know just how much you want sound quality vs. spl. there are quite a few smaller brands out there that make good products at fair prices as well.

go with the JL in a ported box........its louder ported. the JL also hits cleaner. i have 2 W3v2s on a JL 1000rms amp and it is loud and VERY clean.

The kicker will get louder, but sound terrible doing it, get the jl in a ported box and you will get a decent amount of spl with excellent sq, kickers square design makes pressure points on the cone so it distorts like a 90 year old AM radio at high volumes

they aren't quite that bad.

however, they do distort a bit more than the jl... lol.

trust me-

here is the escape, just to show that i'm not like ripping on kicker or being unreasonable. I'm just trying ot point out the facts to help out. I did kicker in the escape because i wanted it showy, cheap, and LOUD.
