Good afternoon guys,

I have had the code P0966 issue, replaced the solenoid, filled the transmisison, did the adaptive learning bit and the light comes and goes. I did notice that this little bracket came off from the transmission and can't figure out where it goes which I would think then would lead to a grounding issue. Any help?

Or maybe a diagram of the transmission wiring so I can make my own ground to the frame?

The ring in your hand secures a wire harness to the frame or a bracket so it wont move around and get damaged, I dont believe this has anything to do the code you a dealing with but look around maybe you can figure out where it came from or leave it off.

These vehicles are known for bad connections at the transmission, I would recommend inspecting this connection for corrosion or water intrusion.

We see this a lot, the AC condensation drain is directly above the transmission wire harness connection and water drips right on top of it and corrodes the connection, it's a horrible design, we also add a piece of heater hose to the drain to reroute the water away from the transmission.

The vehicle side wire harness replacement pigtail is available separately.

Thank you for your response, I did inspect it and replaced the solenoid and the plug looked perfect. Nothing broken, and nothing corroded. I'm assuming I'm having various wiring issues though because now the dash lights have all gone off and no door chime..

Update on this, ran a ground from the alternator to the frame, disconnected the battery and reset the PCM, going strong for about 100 miles thus far!
