I suddently noticed this new icon on my LH display in the Trip 1 submenu. It is a yellow circle with two vertical lines inside of it. It is just the left of the MPG readout and how many gallons used. I don't remember seeing this before and cannot find anything on it in the owners manual, so far.

Can anyone please let me know if this is normal and I just never noticed this before or do I have a problem.

you have put the fuel mileage in pause. hit the ok button on the lh side of the steering wheel. you can pause the mileage calculation again by hitting the ok button.

Welcome to the Forum Gray U502. :wavey:
I wasn't aware the fuel mileage could be put in a 'pause' mode. Perhaps this is new with the 2013 models. I'll have to try it on my 2011 although I'm not sure why you would want to pause it in the first place. Maybe I'm missing something.

Probably so you can pause it on idling, uphill, acceleration or otherwise mileage-detrimental runs to give you a false sense of security about your fuel consumption... :)

Hi Mike,

It sounds like you hit pause, as others have suggested. Check out the Information Displays - Trip 1 and 2 section of the 4th Printing of your Owner's Manual. This section starts on page 127. You can download a free copy of your Owner's Manual here: https://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage

Must be for the 2013 models. On mine, pressing OK in either Trip 1 or 2 will reset the values on the screen. No pause mentioned.

My 2011 has "pause".... Yours should too Peter. Pressing and HOLDING the OK button will reset the meter, but just a quick press and release of the ok button will pause/unpause the trip......

Well what do you know? If it hadn't been for Mike605's post I probably would never have known this without your help. I still haven't found where this is mentioned in the manual, if it indeed is. Could be I just haven't found it yet.
Thanks for the info cnsheets, much appreciated. Maybe I should start my own little note page in my Owner's Guide.:)

I actually found it by mistake... took me a bit to figure out what that icon was, what it meant, and how to turn it on and off.......

Whats nice about it, you can pause it while in stop and go traffic, then resume while cruising the freeway and really inflate your MPG for that trip :D:eek:

Pause button mileage

I thought that perhaps this was an upgrade from 3.5.1! But based on some earlier comments I guess it was there all along and we just missed it.

Anyway...I thought of (perhaps) a good reason to actually use it....

The next time there is an MFT upgrade, pause the fuel mileage while you're car sits and idles for 40 minutes while it installs...:D
