Could we get more pic's of the trunk if you get time? Looks really interesting how you mounted everything.
Looks really good.

my friend has a 2002 C230 Kompressor and the shops in town said its impossible to install an aftermarket head unit because everything is wired together and something about fiber optics.

Do you know anything about the situation?? Seems like you have a similar vehicle.

I got to drive it though...pretty quick car.

Very nice Drew, very nice. Well done,

thanks guys!

many new pics will be forthcoming

the trunk isn't all in right now- but i will post more pictures soon as i throw more of the stereo back in... i have a way with mounting things in ways you wouldn't expect (lots of press fit pieces, very few screws etc.)

of course i can install a hu in anything- but yes, it can get very tricky. what is your friend lookng to do exactly?

Are those 12V modded Ranes?

Well she has the factory Bose stereo...It's lacking in bass and has only a radio.

The dealer told her for the 6 disc changer it would cost 600 dollars...then the installation.

I told her there is always a way to install anything. 600 dollars for a disc changer for a crappy bose stereo is not worth it IMO. Yeah the highs were decent but there is hardly any midbass and bass is out of the question.

Are there not any harnesses for aftermarket integration with the factory system??

Actually, didn't ID modify Ranes to make those? Either way, nice processing. I waited several years for them to release those after they kept saying "coming soon", and I gave up on them.

lol- yeah, and now they are outdated and old school (more or less). I don't know how much of the design is original ID. My only gripe is that i'm essentially running a 4-way set-up and they only allow for 3 way right out of the box. This wouldn't be a huge issue if i could just set up the amps x-overs accordingly on the low end (mids to subs) as that could easily be done... but then it doesn't allow for the proper x-over point on the top end for my application. I am having to use the harrison labs fmods to cut everything starting at 6k hz and down for my tweeters but running the tweeters and the horns 2k hz or so and up off of the id stuff.
